Notes Before You Begin - Read through all of the instructions before beginning. - All of the seam allowances are 1/4” unless otherwise noted. - Press seam allowances open unless otherwise noted. - Width of fabric (WOF) is equal to at least 44-1/2” wide. - Right sides together has been abbreviated to RST. - Remember to measure twice and cut once!

Cutting Instructions From Fabric A, cut: one 22-1/2” x 39” panel From Fabric B, cut: five 2-1/2” x WOF strips. Subcut: two 2-1/2” x 39” two 2-1/2” x 22-1/2” eight 2-1/2” x 6” From Fabric C, cut: one 3-1/2” x WOF strip. Subcut: four 3-1/2” squares four 2-1/2” squares fourteen 1-7/8” x WOF strips. Subcut: fifty-two 1-7/8” x 3-1/4” rectangles two hundred eight 1-7/8” squares From Fabric D, cut: four 3-1/4” x WOF strips. Subcut: fifty-two 3-1/4” squares From Fabric E, cut: five 1-7/8” x WOF strips. Subcut: one hundred four 1-7/8” squares From Fabric F, cut: five 2-1/2” x WOF strips. Subcut: two 2-1/2” x 41-1/2” top and bottom inner borders Sew the remaining strips together, end-to-end, and trim to yield: two 2-1/2” x 54” side inner borders From Fabric G, cut: Note, these are fussy cut to show the tree print within each WOF cut. Cut each WOF strip, centering the tree in each 7-1/2” strip. You may have a small amount of unused fabric between each of the WOF cuts. seven 7-1/2” x WOF strips. Sew three strips together, end-to-end, the trim to yield: two 7-1/2” x 57” for the (top and bottom) middle borders. Sew the remaining strips together in pairs, end-to-end, then trim to yield: two 7-1/2” x 73-1/2” for the (side) middle borders From Fabric H, cut: six 3-1/2” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together, end-to-end, and trim to yield: two 3-1/2” x 55-1/2” strips for the top and bottom outer border two 3-1/2” x 72” strips for the side outer borders page 3

From binding fabric, cut: eight 2-1/2” x WOF strips for binding

Assemble the Quilt Center Step 1: Sew a 2-1/2” Fabric C square to each end of a 22-1/2” Fabric B strip. Repeat with the remaining 22-1/2” strip. Press toward the strip. Step 2: Sew the 39” Fabric B strips to the sides of the Fabric A panel. Press toward the strips. Sew the unit from Step 1 to the top and bottom of the quilt panel. Press toward the strips.

Assemble the Blocks Step 1: Sew a 1-7/8” Fabric E square to either end of a Fabric 1-7/8” x 3-1/4” Fabric C rectangle. Press toward the darker fabric. Repeat to for all Fabric C rectangles, making fifty-two units. Step 2: Mark a diagonal line on the back of each 1-7/8” Fabric C square. Step 3: Place a 1-7/8” Fabric C square at one corner of a 3-1/4” Fabric D square, aligning two raw edges and orienting the marked line as illustrated. Step 4: Sew on the marked line. Trim away the excess, leaving a 1/4” seam allowance. Press toward the corner.

Step 5: Repeat Step 4 at all remaining corners of the Fabric D square. Repeat to make fifty-two units like this. Step 6: Using two completed units from Step 5, sew together along one side. Press the seam open. Make twenty- six units like this.

Step 7: Using two units from Step 1 and one unit from Step 6, create one block by sewing together along the 6” side. Press the seam away from the center. Make twenty-six blocks.

Assemble the Pieced Border Step 1: Gather six blocks and two 2-1/2” x 6” Fabric B rectangles. Sew together as illustrated, noting the orientation of the blocks, to make a top pieced border. Repeat to make the bottom pieced border.

Step 2: Gather seven blocks and two 2-1/2” x 6” Fabric B rectangles. Sew together as illustrated, noting the orientation of the blocks. Repeat to make a second side pieced border.

Step 3: Sew the side borders to the quilt center. Press toward the quilt center. Sew the top and bottom pieced borders to the quilt center. Press toward the quilt center.

Add the Borders and Mitered Corners Step 1: Sew the 54” Fabric F strips to the sides of the quilt. Press toward the border. Sew the 41-1/2” Fabric F strip to the top and bottom of the quilt. Press toward the border. Refer to the Quilt Assembly Diagram if needed. Step 2: Center and pin one 57” Fabric G outer border to the quilt top. Sew the border, starting and stopping 1/4” from each end of the quilt top. Repeat for three other edges, using the 72” lengths for the side borders.

Step 3: Fold the quilt diagonally, right sides together and align two of the borders directly on top of each other. Note: these borders are cut longer than necessary. You will trim them after sewing the mitered corner. Step 4: Use your ruler to draw a line from the corner of the quilt to the edge of the border.

Step 5: Trim off excess border along line and sew 1/4” in from the edge. Begin at the point where your border stitching had ended and sew to the edge of the border. Step 6: Sew the 72” Fabric H strips to the sides of the quilt. Press toward the strip. Sew a 3-1/2” Fabric C square to each end of a 55-1/2” Fabric H border strip. Press toward the squares. Sew this unit to the top of the quilt. Repeat and sew to the bottom of the quilt. Your quilt top is now complete! Baste, quilt, bind and enjoy!
