Bev Pressey
Bev Pressey, wife of Kiwanian Sumner Press Pressy, has died at the age of 78 after an extended illness. She was a well-known local organist and choir director. She belonged to many local organizations. Bev attended many Kiwanis events over the 37 years that Press has been a member.
New Brochures
Thanks to membership chair John Shriver and Cora Zaletel, we have new brochures. Every member will have access to a number of copies. John is encouraging us to distribute them as widely as possible and give them to our friends.
New Club Member

Lorrie Mayes, a local representative selling insurance for Mutual of Omaha, is the newest member of our club. Coming from Houston, she has lived in Pueblo West since 2001, where she enjoys her horses. Her grown daughter, a masters student at CSUPueblo, is expecting her first grandchild. Lorrie says that she is joining the club because she has been looking for a way to serve the communty. Carol Chiarito is her sponsor.
POOPER SCOOPERS Again this year we will participate in the State Fair Parade Saturday, August 26 Joe Welte is organizing it.

New Financial Plan To provide necessary funds needed for our club there have been some changes made: Membership dues $25 per month or $240 per year if paid yearly Meals: $15 per meal eaten. They will be billed monthly Corporate Membership: $1000 per year, including cost of meals There are costs associated with being a member over and above your actual district and international dues. Some of those costs are speaker meals, dues and meals for our secretary and treasurer, annual accounting fees as well as costs for our website, postage and other miscellaneous supplies. Including your actual dues that all totals $240 per year. The $240 can be paid annually, or if you want to be billed monthly, it will be $25 per month. There will no longer be a ‘Senior’ member classification. All members will now be responsible for paying their fair share. This amount does not include meals, which will be billed monthly at $15 per meal eaten. There is also a corporate membership option which will include one meal per week as well as an ad in the Kaktus, plus the opportunity to plug your business at one of our luncheon meetings. That cost will be $1000 per year or $85 per month if billed monthly.
