OUR COMMITMENT The Ladies of Kappa Kappa Gamma from Santa Clara University & UC Berkeley are committed to: Delivering leadership development training for up to 50 middle school girls per session Creating a positive and safe environment for participants to learn about their leadership potential Building and maintaining positive working relationships with schools, teachers and parents Providing collegiate mentoring opportunities for participants to interact with positive role models Increasing leadership involvement of GIRLS Academy participants

Evaluate personal leadership styles using social behavior assessment tools Explore how values impact behavior as a leader and as a participant in group settings Practice ethical decision-making in personal and leadership situations Develop appropriate risk-tasking strategies to encourage creative leadership Have opportunities to benefit from mentoring activities with collegiate women

THE MISSION GIRLS Academy Inspires Respect, Leadership and Service. Using a values-based curriculum, collegiate women of Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity model positive peer relationships for girls in communities throughout North America.

THE PROGRAM GIRLS Academy is a day and a half retreat tailored to meet the unique needs of middle school girls aged 1113. The program consists of facilitated discussions, small group mentoring, personal journaling and a literacybased community service project. Two trained GIRLS Academy lead facilitators supervise this event and run all large group sessions. Ten collegiate Kappa women are selected to serve as facilitators and role models. Additional Kappa women are on site to support program logistics and chaperone the sleepover.

Our two chapters have already partnered and fundraised enough money to hold the event We have worked closely with Jennifer Russell & Maureen Wyland to organize the event

HOW DO I SIGN UP? If you are interested in signing up for this event, please fill out an Application form that can be found in the Attendance Office. The first 50 applicants will be given a spot and others that are interested will be put on a waiting list. There will be an informational meeting during lunch next week at Buchser Middle School where the applications will be handed out. We will begin accepting applications next week in the Attendance Office.
