Week 6 | May 23, 2018 "If there are no dogs in heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went." - Will Rogers

Keep the momentum! The last five weeks we've been building an activity routine with our furry friends by our side. Just because this challenge is about to end does not mean that your daily walks, runs or game of fetch should end. No way! This challenge marks the beginning of a new healthy routine for you both. This Friday, May 25, marks the final day of tracking for this challenge. Please be sure to have all activity minutes recorded by 11:59 pm on Tuesday, May 29, so you may be eligible for prizes. Also, as we wrap up this challenge we would love to get your feedback. Take our brief survey to share what you liked or tell us how we can do better. Take a moment to celebrate your challenge achievements, then lace up your sneakers, snap on the leash, and get moving! The Live Healthy Iowa team

Our Farm Dog of the Week Brought to you by the Iowa Food & Family Project

Meet Blue Is it just Blue or is your tail waggin’ to be in the final week of the Strut Your Pup challenge? For this blue heeler, the exercise doesn’t stop with the challenge, as he plays a key role on the Full Circle Ranch with owner Kim Waltman and her horse, Jazz.

If you’re feeling dog tired, consider boosting your protein with muscle-building dairy. In addition to serving up high-quality protein and all essential amino acids, dairy can help strengthen the immune system, regulate metabolism and keep you satisfied longer. Best of all, cheese, milk and yogurt are all portable, meaning you can take your nutrition on the go and keep your tank as full as your dog’s energy! If you have a bit more time to kick your feet up (you’ve earned it, after all!), swap your straw for a spoon with this recipe for a refreshing Mango Lime Smoothie Bowl. Feed Your Curiosity
