INTRODUCTION The Headphone Jack itself is easy to change. However getting there can be a problem to some, follow these steps and replacement should be a breeze. This guide will demonstrate how to remove the following: 1.Speaker Cover 2. Back Cover 3. Headphone Jack connector In order to complete this guide you will need the proper tools, a new headphone jack, and about 30 minutes to complete the replacement.

Step 1 — Remove the Speaker Cover
The speaker cover is the shinny black plastic piece on the back of the device.
Begin your replacement by inserting a plastic opening tool at the corner of the speaker cover
Gently pry the cover apart from the device, using the plastic opener.
The device is held on by adhesive and two plastic tabs on the corners
Step 2 — Remove the six T3 torx screws
Using a T3 torx screw driver remove the 6 fuchsia colored screws located under the speaker cover
Make sure not to lose the screws because they will be necessary when securing the speakers in the reassembly process

Step 3 — Separate the screen and the back cover
Gently wedge a plastic opening tool between the screen and back cover.
Pry apart the two pieces by sliding the opening tool along the edge
Detach the cable connecting the screen and the back cover.

Step 4 — Replace Headphone Jack
The headphone jack is located in the back cover on the top right corner.
To remove the headphone jack
Remove the silver T3 torx screw that is attaching headphone jack to the device
Using the spudger remove the electrical connector
To attach the new headphone jack
Align the holes on the electrical connector to the two black pegs on the device. Push down to adhere.
Adjust the headphone jack to the proper position so that the screw holes line up.
Using the silver T3 screw, Attach the headphone jack to the device using a T3 torx screwdriver

Step 1 — Remove the Speaker Cover
The speaker cover is the shinny black plastic piece on the back of the device.

Step 4 — Replace Headphone Jack
The headphone jack is located in the back cover on the top right corner.
To remove the headphone jack
Remove the silver T3 torx screw that is attaching headphone jack to the device
Using the spudger remove the electrical connector
To attach the new headphone jack
Align the holes on the electrical connector to the two black pegs on the device. Push down to adhere.
Adjust the headphone jack to the proper position so that the screw holes line up.
Using the silver T3 screw, Attach the headphone jack to the device using a T3 torx screwdriver
