glass Brown, clear and green glass is accepted at recycling convenience centers all over Caldwell County.
what’s the big deal? New regulations governing recyclable materials affect what is accepted at county convenience centers and Foothills Environmental Landfill. In accordance with North Carolina Division of Waste Management rules, residents are required to recycle many common household items when dropping them off at county centers. State inspectors periodically will check to insure that recyclables are not being thrown in the trash. The county could be fined if these items are discovered in the regular trash.
paper Newsprint and old magazines are recyclable and are accepted at county convenience centers. Packaging and broken-down cardboard accepted, too.
county hours of operation Most county convenience centers are open from 7 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The centers in Buffalo Cove and Collettsville are closed on Fridays, while the Dug Hill center is closed on Mondays. All centers are open from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Saturdays. County convenience centers will take any household garbage, old furniture and used appliances except for those that use Freon, as well as used motor oil, metals and aluminum cans, which can be recycled. about lenoir’s recycling center When Is the Center Open? 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Saturdays and 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Wednesdays. Where Is the Center? 1121 Pennton Avenue on the site of the former City of Lenoir Public Works facility and behind the former NC National Guard Armory Who Can Use the Facility? This manned center is for the use of City of Lenoir residents only. Rear view mirror hangers are available at the recycling center or at the collections desk, 1st floor, City Hall.
