K ohe K haen, W akhan. The M edical School of H iroshim a U niver­ sity Expedition was led by Go H irai and consisted of Isao Fujii, K atsuji Doishikawa, Hiroshi Y ahata and M asakazu Y am azaki. They pro­ ceeded from Q ala-i-Panja to Issik via Sust Bala and ascended the Issik river, which descends from Selsala W akhan (Nicola G roup on older maps). Base Cam p was established on July 11 a t 16,000 feet and Cam p I at 18,000 feet. On July 13 all clim bed Kohe K haen (19,751 feet; “ First M oun tain ” ).
