KS4 Pathways The Academy’s philosophy is for pupils to approach their GCSEs with a ‘Stage Not Age’ approach. As with all teaching and learning processes in the Maths department, pathways are flexible and provided as a guide to the future possibilities for your child. Decisions regarding individuals are informed by consultation with all stakeholders to maximise every student’s potential. Vision
To set aspiring and inspirational targets with high expectations for all students. To offer a variety of approaches to teaching and learning to engage and motivate students and encourage their active participation. To smooth the transition for students between Key Stages and ensure progression in teaching and learning throughout their time at the Academy. To explore enrichment opportunities outside the curriculum to enhance students’ enjoyment of mathematics. To provide personal pathways for students to achieve their potential. To make sure that no students are left behind and all are provided with the support to succeed.

We also have the relatively new Renaissance Maths resource that helps teachers to identify individual student’s weaknesses and help us to work on these topics during lesson.
The Maths department follows an open-door policy. All students can approach us regarding any aspect of their learning and school experience and we’ll do all we can to aid them.
