Kulu Pum ori and Shigri Parbat. A 44-m an expedition from the Indian B order Security Force clim bed both o f these peaks. T hree transit cam ps were placed on the B ara Shigri G lacier and A dvance Base at C oncordia at 4900 m eters. T here they split into two groups. O n A ugust 14, deputy leader S.C. Thom as reached the sum m it o f Kulu Pumori (6553 m eters, 21,5 0 0 feet) from a high cam p at 6065 m eters on the southw est face. This m ountain was first clim bed by R .G . P ettigrew ’s B ritish party. Negi and T hom as then jo in ed the group on Shigri Parbat, w hich had established C am p III at 5320 m eters. The route from C am ps II to III had been difficult with crevasses and hanging glaciers.
