Purpose of Learn to Play Clinics 9 Ensure that ALL KIDS HAVE A TRAINED LACROSSE COACH! 9 Help recruit coaches for local lacrosse organizations – engage parents of new players! 9 Provide USL chapters, member leagues and programs with a “turnkey” clinic solution that provides 100% ownership of the clinic delivery and implementation process in order to allow for local autonomy and flexibility in training delivery. 9 Give coaches/parents with limited exposure to lacrosse, a hands-on, skills-focused learning opportunity before entering the larger Coaching Education Program track (Level 1, 2 and 3) 9 Provide an accessible standardized clinic opportunity aligned with USL’s CEP Program for parents or volunteer assistants to gain an understanding of the basics of the game and basic coaching principles principles.

Key initiatives in 2015: • Small Sided Game/Structured Competition Guidelines • Exploring industry connections for equipment, goals, small-sided fields, etc. • Age-Specific Online Coach Courses • Developmentally appropriate principles for kids at each age level. • Age-Specific Coaching Curriculum • Aligned with athlete development model, principles and framework.



2016: • Education/Communication/Adoption/Integration/Roll-Out/Evaluate • Build out high performance and stage 5 programming and development opportunities for the high school athlete.



2017: • LADM starts becoming “the way we do things here” • Adoption, Evaluation, Research, Fine-Tune
