SCOREKEEPER DUTIES:  SHOW UP EARLY o Plan to be at the game at least 20 minutes early. The referee will generally check in with you before game time. If you have any questions, please ask the ref! The refs are super helpful!  TIMEKEEPER – 1 for Game Clock; 1 for Penalty Clock o Run the timeclock for each quarter. Quarters are 12 minutes running time. You will not stop the clock during the quarter unless directed by the referee. o Keep time for anyone sent to the penalty box for the amount of time indicated by the referee. Usually 30 seconds or 1 minute. Time starts when game play begins after penalty is called. Once the penalty time is over, inform the team’s coach and player that they are now released for game play. 

NOTE! The scoring sheet has space to indicate who had a penalty, duration and reason. Most teams don’t use this – check with the coaches if they want it recorded.

o

When the quarter is nearing the end, give the coaches and refs 2-minute and 1minute warnings by yelling, “2 minutes left” or “1 minute left.” o At the end of the quarter, use the Air Horn to announce the quarter is over. SCOREKEEPER o When a team scores a goal, update the score board and write the goal on the scoring sheet. The scoring sheet has spaces to enter who scored the goal. o At the end of the game, please report the final scores to your Team Manager. o The visiting and home team may both choose to keep a scoring sheet, so they have something to give to coaches if the coaches request scoring information.

Thank you for serving in this important volunteer role!!!
