SWA provided master planning services for Lake Houston Wilderness Park, a distinctive 5,000-acre urban park comprised largely of undisturbed and forested wilderness. The vision for the park is to preserve, promote, and improve the site’s ecology with minimal recreational development. The master plan offers a detailed strategy for uplifting the environmental health of the park, and also achieves the goal of making the park economically self-sustaining by using its ecological assets for beneficial mitigation programs
