2014-15 Season Highlights
Middle School The Prior Lake MS team had a good year. They had lots of team bonding opportunities and they showed a lot of improvement throughout the season. Five wrestlers got moved up to the JV team where they got some great experience. The team finished in 4th place in both the Owatonna and Coon Rapids team tourneys. 7th grader Vincent Mosher capped off a great season by finishing in 4th place in the 9th Grade State tournament.

PRIOR LAKE WRESTLING CLUB
Prior Lake won the Section 2AAA team tournament for the fifth straight year with a thrilling 34-22 win over Shakopee in the section finals. At State they placed third with upset wins over higher ranked teams Willmar and Farmington! Six PLHS wrestlers qualified for the Individual State Tourney and four placed. They were led by 2x State Champion Alex Hart. Other place winners for the Lakers were Rylee Streifel, Kenny O’Neil and Zach Smith who each took 5th.

80 kids participated in our youth wrestling program and 22 of them qualified for the MN USA State Tournament. Alan Koehler and Rocco Mikolyzk were both state champions, Brock Zurn took 2nd, and both Tyler Turzinsky and Michael Atkinson placed 3rd. In addition, Liam Collins placed 3rd at the NYWA State Tournament.
About PLWC The Prior Lake Wrestling Club is proud to be involved in all levels of wrestling in the Prior Lake Area school district from Pre-K through High School. This unique structure has many advantages over a typical sports club such as simplified event planning, coordinated fundraising efforts, continuity of coaching and improved communications. As a result of our efforts, Laker Wrestling is without question the most successful athletic program in the PLSavage school district and one of the most admired wrestling programs in the state. Our annual $50,000 budget helps pay for equipment, coaching, tourney fees, travel expenses & scholarships. Your support of this event or the other available sponsorship opportunities will help cover these costs which will get us closer to our ultimate goal – a State Team Title! After an outstanding 2014-15 season, our future is bright and with your support we are looking forward to even greater success in the coming years.

Free admission to the Sponsor Appreciation Night H.S. meet followed by free hors d’oeuvres at a local restaurant. Recognition at our youth wrestling tournament, the end of season awards banquet and our Fall fundraising event. 2 PLWC t-shirts. Tax deduction to the extent allowed by law.
