The site is located approximately 1.5 miles east of Andover Town Centre in between Picket Twenty and Picket Piece. Basingstoke is approximately 15 miles to the east and Southampton is approximately 21 miles to the south. The A303 is located 0.8 miles to the south of the site and accessed via the new infrastructure servicing Picket Twenty. This provides access to the M3 and South West. Harewood Farm sits elevated from Andover Town Centre benefiting from an attractive outlook to the west.
The site has an outline planning permission for 150 units (ref. 12/01611/OUNT) which was upheld at Appeal (ref.APP/ C1760/A/13/2190103) in August 2013. All matters are reserved except access and there is a requirement to provide 40% affordable housing. It is considered that the site could accommodate more unit numbers (subject to planning) and all parties are encouraged to make their own assumptions for this. Access to the development will be provided in two places; via the Picket Twenty roundabout on London Road and a new t-junction off Ox Drove.
