Urban Forest Master Plan Booklet: Diagram of a Multi-Generational Forest
SWA Group, in conjunction with Steinberg Architects and PGA Design, a Certified Arborist and Licensed Surveyor, provided the Los Angeles Valley College with a comprehensive long-term plan for the campus urban forest with a master plan booklet cataloging the existing conditions and addressing issues of maintaining the campus identity, historic awareness, education, sustainability, replacement, maintenance and arboricultural care. The booklet will be used to facilitate the planned growth and preservation of the forest, provide the framework for a realistic idea of how to maintain the current condition of the forest, plan for the build-out of the Measure J master plan development (a prior master-planning project of SWA Group and Steinberg Architects) as well as future unknown developments, establish guidelines for a multi-generational urban forest and as a resource for educational use.
