Entries will close on: 2nd August 2017 Start times will be available on Sunday 6th August between 1900–2100 Telephone number: 01732358009 and will also be posted on Bradbourne RDA Facebook page Toilets will be available on site. Dogs are allowed BUT on a lead at all times (only assistance dogs are allowed in clubhouse). Refreshments available – Hot Dogs, Cakes, Tea, Coffee, cold drinks. Please park lorries/trailers carefully as space will be fairly tight in our car park. Entry fees: All classes £15 Optional Cones Course: £10 for 3 rounds payable on day (1st round practise, 2nd and 3rd round timed and best time recorded on score sheet for each competitor. Best round of the day wins the cones trophy!). Cheques to be made payable to: Bradbourne RDA Group The enclosed Entry Form should be completed and returned with the appropriate entry fee to: Debbie Tatton, 17, Judd Road, Tonbridge, Kent, TN9 2NH Rosettes will be awarded to 6th place in all individual classes and a trophy will be awarded to 1st place winners. There will also be a prize awarded to the Best Newcomer in their first competition, Best Turnout and King or Queen of the Cones This is a relaxed and fun event, which is based on BDS Le Trec rules with activities and challenges for both drivers and coaches. The course will involve approx. 1-2km drive in fields
CLASSES
Novice Whip (to include assisted driving) Ambulant and non-ambulant novice whips This class to be judged mainly on driver’s ability but assistance may be given IF needed. Two sets of reins must be used. RDA driving regulations apply Open Whip -
Ambulant and non-ambulant. This class to be judged on ability of driver. An able bodied coach must accompany driver and two sets of reins be used unless the whip has passed RDA single rein assessment. RDA driving regulations apply
Cones driving class – course open during event (pay on day)
The event will be run to RDA and BDS Le Trec rules with appropriate adaptations

[email protected] Rules for Bradbourne Le Trec competition (based on BDS Le Trec as stated on BDS website) Phase one – safety presentation with up to 40 points awarded by an experienced judge for: fitting of harness and carriage, driver and coach’s attire and suitability for the task, adequate spares kit, any additional safety features eg hi viz wear, mobile, etc
Phase two – Endurance- approx 1-2km in fields (walk or trot) – timed
Phase three – 6 untimed skills with a possible 10 points awarded for skilful completion of each one, to include: 10 seconds halt with reinback 3xBeanbags put in bucket from carriage Trot 20 metre circle on both reins ‘Walking the plank’ (involves a ground helper and water!) Place flags in cones from carriage Walk pony over carpet bridge
Maximum score possible: 100 points
RULES AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY PLEASE OBSERVE THE RDA DRIVING GROUP SAFETY RULES AT ALL TIMES st
1. The event will be run under RDA rules. Novice – drivers who have not won 1 or 2
nd
prize in a competition. Open – drivers who have progressed from novice. 2. The decision of the Judges is final. 3. The organisers reserve the right to alter or cancel the Trials in the event of unforeseen circumstances. The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry to this event. 4. Entrants should satisfy themselves to the condition of their vehicle / harness. Only vehicles/harness passed for RDA should be used. A safety check (including spares) and standing presentation will take place as part of the competition. Casual, practical attire should be worn for the whole event as long as it is neat and tidy and wet weather gear will be permitted if raining! 5. Horses/ponies must be 5 years of age or older. 6. Junior Whips 16 years and under must be accompanied by a competent adult when driving. 7. Hard hats compulsory for whips and grooms for all phases whilst on the carriage. 8. Spares and first aid kits must be carried at all times. 9. Neither the organising committee, nor any other landowner, nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies, save for the death or personal injury caused by negligence of the organisers or anyone for in law they are responsible, accepts any liability, for any accident, loss, damage, injury, or illness, to horses, owners, drivers, by their negligence, breach of contract, or in any way whatsoever. 10. The organizers of this event have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective everyone must themselves also take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents and must obey the instructions of the organisers and all officials and stewards. You will be asked to sign a statement to this effect. 11. Please respect all out of Bounds areas.
