Intensive Crop Management (ICM) is providing the farmer with timely grade cards regarding your crop or field from your Crop Specialist throughout the season. The farmer’s acres are thoroughly scouted as needed from seedling stage through pre-harvest. Crop Specialist will monitor plant population, identify weed escapes or pressure, disease, insects, and nutrient deficiencies (Tissue Sampling). The farmer can expect timely written or electronic scouting reports and itemizing any yield limiting factors out in the field. Your knowledgeable Crop Specialist will provide you with unbiased and objective side-dress nitrogen recommendations, post herbicide, foliar and fungicide treatment recommendations. N-Watch (Nitrogen Management) A piece of the Legacy Rx components is the NWatch system, which is designed to help farmers and Crop Specialists build a knowledge based on the amount of nitrogen in the soil at certain times of the growing season. N-Watch System is designed to take a series of soil probes taken in the same part of the field periodically through the season. Legacy Rx Specialist will designate a place in the field that is both represented and easy to access. Samples are taken by using a 30-inch wooden template that fits between two corn rows, a farmer or Legacy Rx Specialist will take 11 core soil samples at 12-inch and at 24-inch depths. The season long tracking will help the farmer understand nitrogen cycle, how nitrogen moves in the soil and is taken up by plants.
