Tonight, #3 Lehman College hosts #6 Staten Island in the Quarterfinal Round of the 2014 CUNY Athletic Conference Championships. This will mark the second consecutive season that Lehman has hosted a CUNYAC Quarterfinal match as the Lightning will look to advance to the Semifinals for the seventh consecutive season. The Lightning have won the last nine meetings with the Dolphins, including two CUNYAC postseason matches, dating back to 2008. Earlier this year, Lehman defeated CSI in straight sets, with scores of 25‐23, 25‐13, and 25‐22. In that match, senior Cari English led the way on offense, recording 12 kills, two service aces, and scoring 15 points. Junior Imani Dubois chipped in with a team‐high 28 assists and also had three service aces. Senior Julia Mercado led the way on defense with 17 digs while freshman Lizette Medina recorded 11. So far this season, English leads the Lightning with an average of 2.84 kills per set while Mercado has an average of 1.56. Dubois has a team‐high 52 service aces, with freshman Lindsay Pantaleon having the second highest with 35.
