Dear
Parents,

Most
class
sessions,
your
child
will
learn
2
new
words.
Following
are
4
pages
of
flashcards

 so
that
your
child
can
“teach
the
parent.”
You
may
cut
the
flashcards
or
you
can
leave
them

 as
a
sheet
and
point
to
the
words
you
are
learning
and
quizzing.

“glyphs”
and
pictures
 “Glyphs”
are
pictures
of
words
for
their
meaning,
that
also
in
most
cases
mimic
 the
shape
of
the
Hebrew
word
(levels
1‐3).
 At
level
2
and
on,
students
are
able
to
sound
out
words
and
no
longer
need
the
shape
of
the

 word
as
a
crutch.
We
continue
to
use
pictures
as
to
not
teach
by
translation,
but
by
meaning
 of
the
picture.

 The
primary
exercise
for
these
flashcards
is
to
say
the
Hebrew
word.

Words
in
Hebrew
 The
primary
exercise
for
these
flashcards
is
to
say
the
English
meaning.
We
are
creating

 a
sight‐word,
which
means
you
understand
what
you
are
seeing
and
not
just
pronouncing.
 A
secondary
exercise
is
to
say
the
Hebrew
because
there
will
be
some
stories
to
read
aloud
 with
these
words.

English
translations
 Use
them
to
further
test
that
your
child
understands
their
new
Hebrew
vocabulary.
 Side

transliteration
 A
transliteration
of
the
words
is
provided
so
that
you
can
learn
along.
 Thank
you
for
your
support
and
encouragement!
