Most class sessions, your child will learn 2 new words. Following are 4 pages of flashcards so that your child can “teach the parent.” You may cut the flashcards or you can leave them as a sheet and point to the words you are learning and quizzing. Side 1 “glyphs” and pictures “Glyphs” are pictures of words for their meaning, that also in most cases mimic the shape of the Hebrew word (levels 1‐3). At level 2 and on, students are able to sound out words and no longer need the shape of the word as a crutch. We continue to use pictures as to not teach by translation, but by meaning of the picture. The primary exercise for these flashcards is to say the Hebrew word. Side 2 Words in Hebrew The primary exercise for these flashcards is to say the English meaning. We are creating a sight‐word, which means you understand what you are seeing and not just pronouncing. A secondary exercise is to say the Hebrew because there will be some stories to read aloud with these words. Side 3 English translations Use them to further test that your child understands their new Hebrew vocabulary. Side 4 transliteration A transliteration of the words is provided so that you can learn along. Thank you for your support and encouragement!
