Life Changed: A Class for Kids When a child experiences significant loss, such as a death, divorce, loss of family income, move, etc., receiving compassionate help from others is especially important. Without this support, a child could experience educational, emotional and social problems throughout life. If your family has had such a loss, your child is invited to participate in a free class sponsored by First United Methodist Church. Led by counselor Bev Goodier, with the help of trained, compassionate volunteers, this class uses activities to help kids cope with the pain they are experiencing. Sometimes the hardest times of life can be times of growth. Thursdays (15 weeks) at 4:00-5:00 January 26-May 11 (no class March 16 during Spring Break) First United Methodist Church, 533 Grant Ave, Loveland, CO 80537.

Parent Permission for “Life Changed” Class: I understand that: This class is not intended to take the place of professional therapy. The class is facilitated by a counselor and specially trained and supported volunteers. The facilitators do not diagnose or “treat” conditions. This class is designed to help children improve communication, handle anger and other feelings appropriately, resolve conflicts without violence, be more assertive and take responsibility for their actions and feelings. The class also provides an opportunity for students to talk, listen and support each other. Each student is required to agree to confidentiality. Parents will be notified if problems that require professional intervention (i.e. abuse, suicide attempts, eating disorders, etc.) are encountered. Please return to Bev Goodier or the church office.
