This year’s Coaches Memorial golf tournament is dedicated in the memory of former Lion footballer William Keen Jackson III. Keen was a four-year starter at offensive tackle for the Lions from 1973-77, lettering each year. He was named to the All-Gulf South Conference team in 1977 and was the team captain. He was the son of former Lion football player, W.K. Jackson, a member of the undefeated 1946 team. Keen was a native of Hammond and played prep ball under former Lion coach Oscar Lofton at Hammond High. He died in December of 2015 and is survived by his wife, Sherry, and three children.
