OVERVIEW This document includes general usage guidelines for the Lipper Leaders rating system iconography. This method of visually articulating our ratings improves readability and usability across various usages and media. The Lipper Leaders rating system displays ratings from high to low with a rating of 1 considered the lowest rating and a rating of 5 considered the highest, or a Lipper Leader.

GUIDELINES FOR FUND COMPANIES The Lipper Leaders ratings system offers fund companies the ability to highlight the unique strengths of their funds. It provides an easy and visually effective way to illustrate how well your fund meets specific investment goals. Most traditional fund measures are too broad to adequately assess funds that excel in certain areas, but the Lipper Leader ratings system focuses attention on the subtle strengths that characterize high-rated funds. Recognition as a Lipper Leaders provides an excellent opportunity to promote a fund’s strengths. Fund companies around the globe have successfully used Lipper Leaders in print advertisements, websites, annual reports, press releases and other promotional materials. As respected third-party evaluations, Lipper Leaders provide investors and advisors with context and perspective for making informed fund selections. USING LIPPER LEADERS

USING ICONS FROM LIPPER LEADERS ICON GUIDELINES

Fund companies and media companies can use either the Lipper Leaders number icons in promotional material. Lipper does not charge a usage fee or require prior authorization. However, Lipper does request that users adhere to these guidelines, and asks that you provide us with copies of all literature featuring the Lipper Leaders icons. These specifications apply only to commercial print literature and web content. Please submit copies electronically (PDF format preferred) within 15 business days of publication to [email protected]. Once a fund’s Lipper Leader status or Lipper Leaders rating changes, the relevant icon must be updated on all materials on at least a quarterly basis or by the next publication or release of its materials. Funds are not required to display their ratings or icons for each Lipper Leaders measure. The relevant disclosure language is available on our web site at www. lipperweb.com and must accompany the Lipper Leaders number icons and appear on the same page. Fund category counts for U.S. and Canada required as part of the disclosure language may be obtained at no charge from Lipper Client Services toll-free at (877) 955-4773. US Funds with negative SEC Standardized total return in any standard time period should disclose that SEC Standardized Performance in their advertisement. Disclosure requirements are identical for those funds that omit icons and discuss Lipper ratings textually. Funds may only highlight Lipper rating designations for the Overall timeframe, which is an equal-weighted average of ratings for the three-, five-, and ten-year periods (if applicable). Disclosure copy must include Lipper ratings and the number of funds rated for each of the underlying time periods. Suggested disclosures are available on our website at http://www.lipperweb.com.

When using the Lipper Leaders icon, please specify the category of recognition: Total Return, Consistent Return, Preservation, Tax Efficiency (US only) or Expense. The Lipper Leaders ratings consist of a custom-designed number icon (1-4) in a circle. When using this icon, please specify the category of recognition: Total Return, Consistent Return, Preservation, Tax Efficiency (US only) or Expense. Only actual Lipper Leaders icons may be used. Artwork may be obtained at no charge from the www.lipperweb.com website. In addition, Lipper Leaders number icons are available for use in charts and tables that display Lipper ratings for multiple funds simultaneously. The category of rating (Total Return, Consistent Return, Preservation, Tax Efficiency or Expense) may be labeled by the publications layout or by custom-designed icon/type lockups. ADVERTISING USAGE Lipper Leaders number icons can be used to advertise funds in magazines, newspapers, television, and other media. Just as with brochures, websites, and other materials, appropriate disclosure copy must be included in the advertisement. Suggested disclosure copy is available at www. lipperweb.com and in the appendix at the back of this guide. Lipper recognizes the Lipper Leaders icons will be used across a variety of media so they were designed with flexibility in mind.

LIPPER LEADERS KEY Artwork must be reproduced from master artwork, which is available at http://www.lipperweb.com/AboutUs/ LipperLeaders.aspx. Do not redraw a Lipper Leaders key, recolor the key, or create an alternative key. The key is two-dimensional and should never be reproduced three-dimensionally or cropped.
