LOCATION The Little Popo Agie River Ranch is situated on the Little Popo Agie River, approximately 6 miles south of Lander, Wyoming on Hwy 287. Lander is an inviting and comfortable western town, nestled at the foot of the Wind River Mountains. Lander’s Hunt Airfield accommodates private aircraft; while Riverton, which is 20 miles further north, offers commercial flights from the Riverton Regional Airport. Lander is 160 miles from Jackson and 150 miles from Yellowstone National Park. Lander offers exceptional access to the Shoshone National Forest, Sinks Canyon State Park, South Pass City Historic Site, and the Wind River Indian Reservation.

OPERATION
The Little Popo Agie River Ranch consists of 620± deeded acres. The Little Popo Agie River flows through the ranch for nearly 1½ miles and offers a beautiful, private setting for enjoying all the ranch has to offer. Approximately 240 acres of the ranch are irrigated. The terrain includes the river valley flanked by ridges for privacy, rolling hills with sage brush rangeland, additional water in Willow Creek, and the river bottom has areas of willows and cottonwood trees. The ranch has incredible views of the Wind River Mountains to the west and Blue Ridge and red rock hills to the east and south.
Currently, the ranch is managed as a cow / calf operation. Cattle are grazed on a summer Forest Service permit in the Shoshone National Forest. Alfalfa and grass hay are produced on the ranch’s irrigated land with production ranging from about 300 ton per year to 600 ton per year, depending on management practices. Irrigation includes side roll sprinkler systems, gated pipe, hand line and dirt ditches with dams; the sprinkler systems are all gravity fed.
RECREATION Recreational opportunities are limitless on the ranch and in the surrounding areas. The varied terrain on the ranch offers habitat for diverse wildlife populations

WATER Approximately 1½ miles of the Little Popo Agie River flows from south to north through the ranch. Willow Creek flows into the ranch from the west and is a tributary to the Little Popo Agie. Springs service both the homes and the livestock in the corrals. The ranch has water rights to irrigate 265± acres. Water is conveyed to the ranch through both private and shared ditches. Water rights dated before Wyoming was a State, are called Territorial rights and are considered exceptionally good rights – some of the ranch’s water rights are Territorial.
