Why the Lotus?: One of the reasons that lotus flowers are considered so sacred amongst many religions, societies and belief systems is due to their daily cycle, they emerge slowly from dirty, muddy ponds over a period of a few days, and open all in the morning, and close their petals in the late afternoon. The Circadian Rhythm and it’s Importance: The natural biological process that is covered over a period of 24 hours to regulate when our bodies need reset. This is important because in order to have a productive day, one’s circadian rythem needs to be in check to perform at the highest level. The Effect of Light on Human Circadian Physiology: Science shows that our bodies react to certain hues of light that effect the way our body perceives our circadian rythem. A warmer hue of light in the morning, a brighter white light during the day, and a cooler blue light at night keep our bodies responding appropriately.
