Environmental Studies on the Piedmont
Living with Bears In the Piedmont
Thursday, June 14, 2012 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Come visit us at the field station as Director Thomas Wood, Ph.D. discusses best practices for living with our local black bears.
As Virginia's black bear population increases, sightings of them throughout the Piedmont are becoming more common. Join us to see photos of bears from our area, to learn to live with bears, and to share your stories of local bear sightings. Drop by for a visit and learn how to co-exist with the bears. Our Director, Dr. Wood will discuss how to best "live with the bears."
Space is limited to 25 participants. To RSVP, please contact:

Environmental Studies is a private research, education and conservation organization headquartered on a 914 acre field station, just north of Warrenton, Virginia in the Northern Piedmont. With upland forest, meadow, wetland, vernal pool, stream, pond and small lake habitats, the field station is a rich resource for indigenous plant and wildlife studies. Our goal is to integrate nature with human activity and development needs so that natural resources are sustainably renewed instead of depleted. We believe this depends upon bringing scientists and the public together in partnership. We do this by encouraging community participation in our research through hands-on education, volunteer programs and educational public events. Please join us for one of these fun and relaxing events.
