Local produce set for take-off as Autogrill HMSHost unveils fresh new menu at Inverness Airport boasting fresh Highland produce Menu developed with local producers in mind to be unveiled on January 25th

January 2012: Food, beverage and retail specialists Autogrill HMSHost will this week unveil a brand new food and beverage offering at Inverness Airport, boasting fresh Highland produce. In line with changing demands from air passengers, the company has worked with local suppliers to introduce a new and fresh menu that will be available at the D’Lish self-service restaurant as of January 25th. The new menu includes pies that are fully produced and cooked on-site, venison burgers, gourmet sausages and made to order sandwiches. All products are made with fresh ingredients sourced from well-known Highland suppliers, such as Duncan Fraser, Inverness Farmers and Cobbs. “We know from speaking to our customers across the world that they want fresh, tasty and exciting food, but increasingly we are seeing an interest in food provenance,” said Jeni McFarlane, General Manager from Autogrill HMSHost at Inverness Airport. “Customers will not only be able to enjoy the fresh, local produce, but will be able to see exactly where all of their meal came from on our prominent ‘Produce Map’. We have worked with the best suppliers in the Highlands & Islands to put together a menu that we think represents the very best of Scotland on a plate.” Inverness Airport Manager Graeme Bell said: “The Highlands is renowned for the diversity of its fresh produce and as the main gateway to the Highlands, it’s fitting that Inverness Airport should showcase local suppliers and products. “As well as supporting local businesses, this also ensures that our passengers enjoy freshly cooked meals, prepared on site using the best Highland ingredients. We hope it will give visitors to the region a taste of the Highlands and encourage them to sample more of our fine produce." Across the board, Inverness passengers will be able to enjoy daily specials, locally produced ice cream in the summer months, flavoured coffees and Scottish teas. The introduction of the new menu coincides with a general refresh of the Autogrill offering airside at Inverness. The menu will be unveiled at a special media only tasting event on Friday 25th January from 1300 to 1400, where attendees will be able to sample the new dishes and new ambiance for themselves. In addition, Inverness Airport has announced that
