Although it is a cross country team camp by design, the information offered is extremely valuable to all distance athletes (800m to 5000m). Campers will engage in hill training, interval workouts, core work, aqua jogging, running form and strengthening drills, and weight training. Campers will also learn about nutrition, sports psychology, lifestyle habits, sports science, plus much more! There will also be team building activities throughout the weekend. General Camp Information All campers should arrive on campus between 1 and 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 2nd. Overnight campers will be lodged in state of the art air conditioned residential halls. The campers will depart at 1 p.m. on the last day of the camp. Campers that are not staying overnight will begin at 8 a.m. and will end around 9 p.m. each day. Each commuter will be provided with lunch and dinner. Additional information such as time schedules will be mailed to all registered campers. Fees The total cost for each camp, which includes instruction, meals, lodging and camp t-shirt, is $395 per overnight camper and $295 per commuter camper. Camp Instructors Damon Martin - Camp Instructor and Director of ASC Track & Field/XC Martin is the 24-time NCAA II National Coach of the Year from Adams State College in Colorado. Having coached in excess of 600 All-Americans, over 50 National Champions, and multiple USA team members, Coach Martin is also the driving force behind the most successful women’s collegiate cross country program in history. This past fall, Martin set another NCAA record - he coached both the ASC Men and Women to National cross country team titles for the third time! Roger Kingdom - Camp Speaker and Director of Cal U Track & Field/XC 2 Olympic Gold medals, 2 Olympic Records, 1 World Record, 1 World Championship, and the list goes on! Kingdom is arguably the greatest hurdler ever, and now he is leading Cal U’s track & field teams in the same direction. In 2008 he coached his athletes to 9 All-America awards and 4 conference records. Jayson Resch - Head Track & Field/XC Coach Clarion All-American coach, All-American athlete, army captain, high school history teacher, motivational speaker, and the bearer of multiple degrees. All of the above describe the 30 year old Resch, and we’re excited to have him back at our camp again this year.

Jacqueline (Pacentrilli) Caulfield - Assistant XC Coach A former 5km/10km All-American, ‘Coach Jackie’ has helped coach over 20 NCAA II National Champions, and over 100 AllAmericans in events from the 800m to XC. She is also a member of the 1998 NCAA D2 National Championship team that defeated the 1998 NCAA D1 National Championship team (University of Colorado) on the Buff’s home course. Bobby Sepesy - Camp Strength & Conditioning Coach A former nationally ranked body builder, Sepesy has played a monumental role in the successes of all the Cal U teams in recent years. Assessing athlete’s weaknesses and designing exercise programs to address these areas resulted in no less than 5 of Sepesy’s trained teams making the national playoffs in 2008. Additionally, injuries across all sports decreased since the Cal U Athletic Department began utilizing Sepesy’s methods. Emily Mortensen - Camp Speaker and Counselor After winning her first individual NCAA II National Championship on her final attempt in May of 2006, Mortensen wasted no time in climbing the ranks of post-collegiate running. Within one month she had her first Top-10 placing at the USATF National Championships, and within less than a year Mortensen represented the USA at the Pan-American Games in Brazil. She is currently sponsored by PUMA. Kim Schwabenbauer - Camp Speaker Schwabenbauer is a qualified nutritionist who knows what it takes to succeed in performance sports. In 2008 she qualified for and competed in the IronMan Triathlon World Championships in Kona, HI. She is currently sponsored by Powerbar, Super Donut, Washington Reprographics, and Big Bang Bikes. Kevin Smith - Camp Speaker Kevin has been analyzing running mechanics and helping runners stay injury free for over ten years. The owner and operator of the most popular running shoe store in Western Pennsylvania - Elite Runners and Walkers, Kevin will be focusing his talk on running mechanics and finding the right shoe for you.

Daniel Caulfield - Head Cross Country Coach Having had the good fortune of being coached, taught, and employed by several World Class coaches, it was no surprise that Caulfield coached Cal’s first track All-American since the 80’s less than a year after arriving at Cal U in the spring of 2007. By 2008, 4 more athletes had run National qualifying times, while two of those set conference records. Despite having degrees in Exercise Physiology and Human Performance from Adams State College, Caulfield attributes most of his coaching ability to Dr. Joe I Vigil - 2008 US Olympic Distance Coach, Damon Martin - 24 time NCAA Coach of the Year, and Jim Kilty - multiple time Irish Olympic Coach. As an athlete Caulfield was a 10-time All-American and 4-time National Champion, and he continues to hold the Irish National Record for the indoor 800m.
