LONDON CYCLING CAMPAIGN Campaigns Manager Job Description & Person Specification September 2015 About the London Cycling Campaign With 12,500 members, some 30,000 supporters, and 33 groups, London Cycling Campaign (LCC) is the largest urban cycling organisation in the world. For over 35 years we have campaigned for better provision for cycling in London. We believe that making cycling the number one transport choice for everyday, local journeys will generate immense quality of life, environmental, health and economic benefits for all. We campaign for action to reduce the barriers that prevent people of all ages and abilities enjoying the freedom and convenience that cycling brings. We set the bar high. Our 2012 Love London, Go Dutch mayoral election campaign won a new and far more ambitious approach to cycling from the GLA and TfL (and resonated far beyond the capital). Our Space for Cycling campaign at the 2014 local elections won the support of almost half of those elected to office for a similarly bold new approach at the local level (and has been taken up by cycling groups across the country and abroad). Our ongoing End Lorry Danger campaign has been influential with both industry and the authorities in improving lorry safety. As well as campaigning for change we also roll up our sleeves and make things happen at the grass-roots: working with businesses and local authorities, our consultancy and services arm conducts events, projects, analysis and stakeholder work that has enabled many thousands of people to take up and enjoy cycling.
Main Purpose of the Role LCC has raised its game significantly in recent years.
