LOCATION At I-90 Exit 185 in Sundance Wyoming, go west 1 mile on Highway 14, north .7 mile on Warren Peak Road, left 3.7 miles on Miller Creek Road, right (north) 1.7 miles on Bearlodge Ranch Road, then west on South Miller Creek Road.
LOCALE Sundance, Wyoming is nestled in the valley of the Bearlodge Mountains in Northeastern Wyoming on the Wyoming side of the Black Hills. History and folklore abounds in the streets that were made for freight wagons and teams of horses. The Sundance Kid did his only jail time here and you can relive the history in the Free Museum. Sundance was established in 1875 as a trading post and prospered in the wide open frontier of its time. CLIMATE In Sundance, average annual precipitation (1981–2010) was 19.2 inches, with most of that falling between March and September. The snowfall in Sundance averages 78 inches annually, little of which remains on the ground for more than a few days. Winter days are generally sunny with the coldest month being January with an average high temperature of 31 degrees. Summers consist of warm days and cool evenings. Average high temperature in July is 85 degrees and the average low is 55. Elevation at the property is 4,765 ft.

RECREATION Sundance is a relatively quiet, inland town throughout the winter months; but when summer arrives, it awakens from its dormancy to greet its many tourists passing through on their way to Devils Tower and Yellowstone National Park. Recreational opportunities abound in the Bear Lodge Mountains surrounding Sundance, including mountain biking, hiking, camping, fishing, and hunting. Sundance is surrounded by over 165,000 acres of National Forest. Numerous hiking, mountain biking, horse and backpacking trails crisscross the Bear Lodge Mountains only three miles from the city limits. Sundance is known as the whitetail deer capital of the world. In the winter, Sundance becomes a snowmobile destination for riders who have access to over 375 miles of groomed and marked trails. The iconic Devils Tower National Monument is a world-famous tourist attraction.
WILDLIFE With live water, areas of dense cover and a healthy food resource, Lost Lake Ranch has bountiful populations of elk and Whitetail deer. The ranch and surrounding area also support Merriam Turkey and a variety of other wildlife including mountain lions, coyote, red fox, and bobcat. All water in Wyoming is property of the State of Wyoming for the use of the people of Wyoming.
