ENTRY:

*Each district will email a hard copy of the district results to [email protected] We will then email a meet program to all coaches. You will confirm your area qualifiers are listed correctly.

SCRATCHES / ADDS: DEADLINE: Wednesday, April 19th at 5:00 p.m. All changes and scratches must be emailed to [email protected]. It is the responsibility of the coach making the changes or scratches to notify their district meet director and the other school coach’s of those changes. Please cc all parties that are involved in the change/scratches. Changes over the phone will not be accepted. This is done to ensure accuracy for each district and so each district and the meet officials will have a record on changes made. ADMISSIONS:

Contestants, Coaches, and Judges with wristband will be admitted free. The admission fee each day is: Students - $3.00; Adults - $4.00.

PARKING:

Team parking will be on the west side of the stadium near the indoor facility (home side). Spectator parking will be in the remaining parking lot.

CONCESSIONS:

Concessions will be open on south west corner of the stadium (home side). No food, sunflower seeds, or drinks other than water will be allowed on the football field. Water tanks will be stationed on the field.

ATHLETIC TRAINERS: Lovejoy ISD Athletic trainers will be available throughout the meet. Trainers will be set up near the Field House on the south side of the stadium. If your athlete needs a special treatment before or after their event, please contact Susan Smiley, our head trainer at [email protected]. SPECTATORS:

Designated viewing areas will be available at each field event for fans. Only athletes that are competing during any session are allowed in the jumping or throwing areas. Spectators will not be allowed in roped off area. Coaches will have access to all areas during warm-ups. Once the competition starts coaches will need to move outside the competition area.

WARM-UPS:

Football field will be used for warm ups, but only coaches and competing athletes will be allowed on the field. All athletes must be in a team uniform to check in. When they check in they will receive their hip number for their next event. When athletes are done with their running event they will be directed to either go to the award stand or go back to the warm-up area. No cell phones or headphones will be allowed inside the track or competition area.

CAMPS:

Team camps will be on the visitor side only. Tents can be set up in the visitor stands. Tents and camps can also set up on the grassy areas just south of the visitor bleachers. No tents on the home side. No loud noises or radios in camps. Please help us by making sure your campsite is clean. Thank you in advance for your help.

TRACK CARE:

No chalk or athletic tape on track. Tennis balls or rubber markers are allowed on Track. Chalk or rubber markers may be used on runways and high jump area – no athletic tap.

AWARDS:

All awards will be presented at the conclusion of the event at the award stand. The top four will report as soon as possible to the award stand for the announcements of the award winners and the advancers to the Region II Championships at UTA.

OTHER REMINDERS: Uniforms- school issue only, According to UIL regulations. Meet Referee makes final decisions. Rules Committee: One representative from each school (not a track coach) and meet referee. T-SHIRT SALES:

Area Track & Field t-shirts will be for sale on the home side near the concessions stand. Tee shirts are customizable by color, style, and what is printed on the front, back, and sides. The tee shirt design is below.

POINTS OF INTEREST CONCERNING FIELD EVENTS, RUNNING EVENTS, & MEET WORKERS SHOT PUT/DISCUS: All shot and discus will be weighed and marked in the Indoor Facility. Weigh in will start at 7:30 AM and end at 9:30 AM. ALL shots and discus will be pooled at the competition site. Athletes will take their throws in order during each round of competition. (Two attempts in succession will not be permitted). Seeding in descending order determined by the best mark recorded in their respective district meet with 3 throws (8th-1st). Athletes will be reseeded in finals (8th – 1st) determined from first round of competition and 3 more attempts in finals. Ties will be broken by using the next best attempt out of all attempts in prelims and finals.

HIGH JUMP/ POLE VAULT:

Athletes can weigh in and certify pole vault poles in the indoor facility from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM. Seeding in descending order determined by the best mark recorded in their respective district meet (8th-1st). In case of a tie (High Jump and Pole Vault) from 1st – 8th, there will be a jump-off at the end of the competition. If there are multiple ties, the highest tie will have the jump off first followed by the next lowest tie until all ties are broken.

LONG JUMP / TRIPLE JUMP:

Athletes will take their jumps in order during each round of competition. (Two attempts in succession will not be permitted). Seeding in descending order determined by the best mark recorded in their respective district meet with 3 jumps in the first round (8th-1st). Athletes will be reseeded in finals (8th – 1st), determined from first round of competition, and 3 more attempts. Ties will be broken by using the next best attempt out of all attempts in prelims and finals.

RELAY CARDS:

Relay teams must turn in Relay Card at check in table when checking in for race.

EVENT / CURVE EXCHANGE / JUDGES:

Each school will need to provide 2 field event workers and 1 exchange/lane judges for the running events. Each school will also provide 1 timer or picker. District 15 will be responsible for running off their assigned field event. District 16 will assist in their assigned field event.
