INTEGRATED HITCH RECEIVER Tundra is available with a towing hitch receiver, which is integrated into the frame. The 4 and 7 pin trailer connections have been repositioned to allow for greater accessibility and convenience.
INTEGRATED TRAILER BRAKE CONTROLLER Tundras equipped with the i-FORCE 5.7 L V8 come standard with an Integrated Trailer Brake Controller. When connected to a compatible trailer, this system will help your trailer apply its brakes when you apply the brakes in your Tundra. You can also easily monitor system controls while driving via the Multi-Information Display.
TOW/HAUL MODE The available TOW/HAUL mode expands the use of lower gear ranges, helping prevent the transmission from awkwardly shifting or “hunting” for the right gear. Particularly useful while towing or hauling a heavy load, the system enhances acceleration, downhill engine braking, pulling power, and cruising comfort.
TRAILER-SWAY CONTROL When a vehicle is towing a trailer, various weather, road, and steering conditions can result in dangerous trailer sway. Tundra’s available TSC is a system that detects trailer sway and applies brake pressure at individual wheels and controls engine torque to help stabilize the trailer. The system also illuminates the stop lamps to alert drivers to the fact that the vehicle is decelerating.

There’s something very liberating about a fork in the road. The opportunity to create your own adventure and to rewrite your own destiny. The freedom to choose was not lost on us when we created the 2017 Toyota Tundra. With two torque-heavy, fuel conscious engines, you have more than enough power to overcome any obstacle that stands in your way. And with great power comes the need for even greater control. That’s why we equipped Tundra with a 6-speed automatic transmission and an available two-piece driveshaft and massive 10.5-in. ring gear. So go ahead, throw any passion project at the Tundra. It can handle it.
i-FORCE 4.6-LITRE V8 The efficient 4.6 L i-FORCE V8 may be compact, but Tundra’s 4.6 L V8 utilizes Dual Independent Variable Valve Timing with intelligence and an Acoustic Control Induction System technology to produce an impressive 310 hp and 327 lb.ft. of torque.

MASSIVE RING GEAR Massive torque loads need a massive ring gear to manage the stress of repeated heavy payloads and towing. That’s why the 5.7-Litre engine is equipped with a 266 mm (10.5 in.) ring gear, and the 4.6-Litre engine is matched to a 241 mm (9.5 in.) ring gear.
TRAPEZOIDAL FRAME SECTION When you think of suspension, you probably think about up-and-down movement. But our engineers also thought about lateral stability. The trapezoidal rear section of Tundra’s TripleTech™ frame allows the rear leaf springs to be positioned toe-out, where the front is mounted farther out than the rear. The result: The trapezoidal rear frame section and the toe-out rear leaf springs combined deliver superior lateral stability when cornering and especially while towing heavy loads.
POWERFUL BIG BRAKES With big power comes big responsibility. That’s why Tundra is equipped with enormous 13.9-in. front Brake Rotors and 4-piston calipers. Particularly when you’re towing, Tundra’s big rotors can help to provide the confidence that when you apply the brakes, the Tundra – and your trailer – will come safely to a stop.
AUTOMATIC LIMITED-SLIP DIFFERENTIAL Auto LSD uses the rear brakes to simulate the action of a mechanical limited-slip differential and is much easier to maintain. With Auto LSD, Tundra automatically applies brake pressure to the powered wheel with limited-to-no traction without restricting engine power. This helps increase resistance at the slipping wheel, which in turn helps feed power to the wheel with grip.

4WD ACTIVE TRACTION CONTROL Tundra models equipped with 4WD include an A-TRAC system that optimizes traction across the front and rear axles simultaneously, helping improve grip on low-traction surfaces. This A-TRAC system also allows full use of the 2-speed transfer case, so you always have on-demand access to Tundra’s incredible torque.

INTEGRATED HITCH RECEIVER Tundra is available with a towing hitch receiver, which is integrated into the frame. The 4 and 7 pin trailer connections have been repositioned to allow for greater accessibility and convenience.
INTEGRATED TRAILER BRAKE CONTROLLER Tundras equipped with the i-FORCE 5.7 L V8 come standard with an Integrated Trailer Brake Controller. When connected to a compatible trailer, this system will help your trailer apply its brakes when you apply the brakes in your Tundra. You can also easily monitor system controls while driving via the Multi-Information Display.
TOW/HAUL MODE The available TOW/HAUL mode expands the use of lower gear ranges, helping prevent the transmission from awkwardly shifting or “hunting” for the right gear. Particularly useful while towing or hauling a heavy load, the system enhances acceleration, downhill engine braking, pulling power, and cruising comfort.
TRAILER-SWAY CONTROL When a vehicle is towing a trailer, various weather, road, and steering conditions can result in dangerous trailer sway. Tundra’s available TSC is a system that detects trailer sway and applies brake pressure at individual wheels and controls engine torque to help stabilize the trailer. The system also illuminates the stop lamps to alert drivers to the fact that the vehicle is decelerating.

MASSIVE RING GEAR Massive torque loads need a massive ring gear to manage the stress of repeated heavy payloads and towing. That’s why the 5.7-Litre engine is equipped with a 266 mm (10.5 in.) ring gear, and the 4.6-Litre engine is matched to a 241 mm (9.5 in.) ring gear.
TRAPEZOIDAL FRAME SECTION When you think of suspension, you probably think about up-and-down movement. But our engineers also thought about lateral stability. The trapezoidal rear section of Tundra’s TripleTech™ frame allows the rear leaf springs to be positioned toe-out, where the front is mounted farther out than the rear. The result: The trapezoidal rear frame section and the toe-out rear leaf springs combined deliver superior lateral stability when cornering and especially while towing heavy loads.
POWERFUL BIG BRAKES With big power comes big responsibility. That’s why Tundra is equipped with enormous 13.9-in. front Brake Rotors and 4-piston calipers. Particularly when you’re towing, Tundra’s big rotors can help to provide the confidence that when you apply the brakes, the Tundra – and your trailer – will come safely to a stop.
AUTOMATIC LIMITED-SLIP DIFFERENTIAL Auto LSD uses the rear brakes to simulate the action of a mechanical limited-slip differential and is much easier to maintain. With Auto LSD, Tundra automatically applies brake pressure to the powered wheel with limited-to-no traction without restricting engine power. This helps increase resistance at the slipping wheel, which in turn helps feed power to the wheel with grip.

4WD ACTIVE TRACTION CONTROL Tundra models equipped with 4WD include an A-TRAC system that optimizes traction across the front and rear axles simultaneously, helping improve grip on low-traction surfaces. This A-TRAC system also allows full use of the 2-speed transfer case, so you always have on-demand access to Tundra’s incredible torque.

When engaged, the system will reduce engine power to help the brakes bring the vehicle to a stop. Factors including speed, road conditions, and driver input can all impact stopping distance. Smart Stop Technology is not a substitute for safe and attentive driving and does not guarantee instant stopping. (9) Do not rely exclusively on the Blind Spot Monitor System and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert System. They are not collision-avoidance systems or substitutes for safe and attentive driving.
