May is always busy with market, graduations and end of school programs. Although high school and college graduations are solemnly important, I thoroughly enjoy kindergarten graduations because the kids are just so doggone cute! Bronson and Aleece will be graduating from kindergarten into “big-kid-all-day-school” and Delainey is having her preschool graduation next week. (I can’t believe the baby of the family will be in kindergarten next year!) These small moments in time have a big impact on our lives as we rush through the days and weeks. I definitely intend to stop, drink some Kool-Aid and eat a cookie to celebrate the little people in my life.

This month’s project Rickrack Paddywack
A bit of Moda’s jumbo rickrack and a few of my favorite brown and tan prints just fell together into a darling little quilt that would be perfect for a table topper. Just think of the possibilities in reds, blues, greens......
Warm Memories
We celebrate Christmas in November at the KT studio - that’s when the new Christmas fabric arrives! This year was so much fun, adding ornaments to our simply pieced feather tree as we counted down to December 25th. Lois whipped up a set of 24 ornaments using a charm pack while I decided to curl up under a quilt and spend a few evenings stitching mine by hand out of wool scraps and pieces. It’s so hard to choose a favorite! Also included in the booklet is the same feather tree quilt in lap size with the ornaments stitched onto the quilt top and a very easy runner you can make any length to fit your table. See it all - along with the new Warm Memories fabric collection - in your quilt shop this month! Warm Memories - $10.95
********************************************************* Not ‘Yo Mama’s Banana Cream Cake
Pam Buda, a good friend and fellow quilt designer (heartspun quilts) shared this recipe for a wonderfully simple and delicious banana cake when she discovered my husband’s favorite pie is banana cream. This is his new favorite! 2-3 bags Pepperidge Farm Chessmen cookies 6-8 ripe bananas 2 cups milk 1 (5oz) box instant French pudding 1 (8oz) package cream cheese, softened 1 (14oz) can sweetened condensed milk 1 (12oz) Cool Whip, thawed
Line the bottom of a 9x13 dish with 1 bag of cookies and layer sliced bananas on top. In a bowl, combine milk and pudding; blend well using a hand mixer. In another bowl, combine cream cheese and condensed milk together until smooth. Fold the Cool Whip into the cream cheese mixture. Add the cream cheese mixture to the pudding and stir until well blended. Pour the mixture over the cookies and bananas and cover with the remaining cookies. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Serves 12.
