M7 Exploding Into Action

Exploding Into Action In a movie or play, you’ll hear the director yell, “Action!” From there, all kinds of amazing things happen. We want you to take that same principle into your own life. We want you to become a person of action because a person who makes big moves is a person who gets big things done. If you don’t, you’re going to miss out on life. True professionals are not guided by a clock in the same way that the masses are. Instead, they simply act when they are ready for action. As Earl Nightingale once said, “Ideas are like slippery fish. If you don’t spear them with the point of a pencil, they’ll get away.” Unfortunately, you are probably aware that millions of ideas are never fleshed out. Negative suggestions from ignorant but well-meaning people coupled with doubt and worry is generally what takes the life out of most great ideas. Just like an expecting mother has to take care of her unborn child, you must take care of your unborn idea. You have to surround yourself with positive people, listen to motivational speeches, read selfhelp books, and work at becoming a better person every single day of your life. Imagine this true story for a moment. There was a dirt poor prospector out of Northern Ontario in Canada years ago. Day after day, month after month, and year after year, this prospector would go out on a search for gold and would return home empty handed. There were times when he and his family had little to nothing to eat, and his wife started to become concerned about the family’s wellbeing. However, the man assured her that everything was going to be ok. So, the week between Christmas and New Year’s came.

Because it was a predominantly Christian town, this man knew that just about everyone would be inside with family and friends. They wouldn’t be out searching for gold. He and his friend went out past the city limits in the deep snow to a place where many other prospectors would call them crazy for digging. However, that was the exact time that they struck gold and founded the multibillion dollar company Hemlo Gold Mines. All because he took action when other people weren’t. There’s little more dangerous than sitting by and hoping that something great will happen in your life. Great things don’t happen. You make them happen. You ARE just like all of the great people that you read about. Take action and go out and meet these people. The more of these people that you get to know, the more you’ll realize that you are just like them. Knowing this will make you feel better about yourself and give you more confidence. Don’t worry about what might happen when you explode into action on your new idea. Just act.
