M.A. in Rhetoric & Composition at the University of Central Florida

UCF offers a Master of Arts in Rhetoric and Composition that provides graduate students with a solid foundation in rhetorical, writing, and literacy studies. Students in our program study how rhetorical theory can inform the teaching and practice of academic, professional, and civic writing in both historical and contemporary settings.

 Faculty strengths include: cultural rhetorics, rhetorics of science and medicine, writing and digital media, disability rhetoric, writing program administration, gender studies, queer and feminist rhetorics, professional writing, civic and community-based writing, transnational literacy and rhetoric, and literacy development.  Graduate Assistantships involve working in our University Writing Center or Writing across the Curriculum program, and teaching in our award-winning First-Year Writing program.  Our graduates have gone on to earn fellowships/assistantships in some of the best Ph.D. programs in the field, to teach in and coordinate writing programs at community and state colleges, and to begin or advance in writing-focused careers in various job sectors such as media, marketing, and non-profit work.
