Creating a Better Brand Experience Using mobile technology for both cell phones and WAP-enabled devices, MLB is able to offer a more interactive experience. For example, fans can use their devices to respond to offers and trivia contests on MLB stadium scoreboards or cast votes for the All-Star teams. Plus through Mobi-TV, mobile fans can catch games via live TV and radio broadcasts. To sign up, baseball lovers log on to www.mlb.com/mobile and follow the simple instructions. Or using their mobile phones they simply enter the name of their favorite team name as a text message and send to the common short code 65246 (MLBGO on most phones). Fans must confirm that they want to opt in to the program. Upon doing so, they receive instant confirmation of their MLB subscription. The monthly alert fee is added to the subscriber’s mobile phone bill. Fans can opt out at any time by texting “Quit” to 65246.
