The Crystal Maze

A host of stars get set to help raise piles of cash for Stand Up To Cancer…

Sunday, October 16, 9pm, C4 Anyone who was at school in the early 90s will be thrilled that super-exciting adventure game show The Crystal Maze is back – after 21 years away – for a one-off celeb special. And anyone younger than that will be thrilled that Michelle Keegan is one of the celebs taking part. Yay! She joins contenders Sara Cox, Josh “never off our screens” Widdicombe, Rio Ferdinand and Paralympics star Jonnie Peacock. Stephen Merchant hosts.

Stand Up To Cancer Live Friday, October 21, Channel 4

P

repare to laugh loudly and give generously as Davina McCall, Alan Carr and Adam Hills host an evening of fun and fundraising to help in the fight against cancer. Among the many stars taking part are Eva Longoria, Michael Bublé, Jamie Dornan, Jon Hamm, Olivia Colman, David Tennant and Matthew McConaughey. Other highlights on the night include Britney Spears showing off her little known comic side, a celeb version of Gogglebox and special episodes of Humans and The Last Leg. There’s also several other Stand Up To Cancer-themed shows during the rest of the week – and here’s our pick of the funny bunch…

Tattoo Fixers

Child Genius Vs Celebrities

Thursday, October 20, 10pm, C4 Doesn’t matter who you are – or how famous you are – sometimes a once-loved tattoo has just got to go. Or be turned into something completely random. And for Stand Up To Cancer, the Tattoo Fixers crew – Jay, Alice, Sketch and Paisley – are visited by Made In Chelsea’s Jamie Laing, This Is England ’s Thomas Turgoose and newsreader Cathy Newman, as well as some families also supporting the cause.

Sunday, October 16, 8pm, C4 No one likes a smart arse. But, as this quiz special is for a very good cause, we’re prepared to relax our disliking smart arses policy for one night only! Get set to watch uni-educated stars Alan Carr, Rachel Riley, newsreader Krishnan Guru-Murthy and comedian Aisling Bea take on some seriously swotty kids over several rounds of tough spelling, maths and general knowledge questions. It’s going to be brutal.

Meet The Parents

WORDS: Georgia Farquharson, Kate Randell

Saturday, October 15, 7pm, ITV As much as we love Take Me Out, there’s been a family-friendly dating show-shaped hole in our Saturday night telly schedules ever since Cilla Black’s Blind Date ended 13 years ago. But not for much longer! Get ready for some potentially toe-curling entertainment as Holly Willoughby plays Cupid on new series Meet The Parents. The “picker” – who’s looking for love – gets to ask their potential partner’s parents anything. With nothing off-limits, the guys and girls hoping to be chosen have no control over what their folks are saying, but do have just one emergency phone call to speak to them. This could be TV gold!

Justin Timberlake + The Tennessee Kids Netflix

Ordinary Lies Tuesday, October 18, 9pm, BBC1 Hurrah! Ace drama Ordinary Lies is back, with a brand new story and a totally new cast. This series is set in a call centre and… Wait, wait, don’t go! Come back! Yes, we know the words “call” and “centre” don’t scream gripping action and extreme emotional turmoil but don’t worry, this is Ordinary Lies and the first series was amazing! In the first episode, we meet head of sales Joe (Con O’Neill), who leaves work early one day after an injury and finds wife Belinda (Jill Halfpenny) acting strangely at home. Intriguing. Look out for former EastEnders hunk Matt Di Angelo and Hear’Say’s Noel Sullivan in the cast, too.

Ever wondered what it’s like being Justin Timberlake? Well, wonder no more as the Trousersnake himself has allowed cameras behind the scenes of his 20/20 Experience tour during its final night in Las Vegas. This concert documentary captures JT giving his band the kind of cheesy pep talks that Oprah would be proud of, as well as performances of his biggest hits, including Mirrors, SexyBack and Suit & Tie. Yeah, it’s sure to be full of Timberlake propaganda, but as long as you love a good pop song or three, you’ll be in for a treat!
