Mandatory Grassland Basketball Evaluations and Uniform Sizing When are evaluations? Sunday, October 22, at Grassland Middle School between the hours of 12:45 and 8:30 pm
Who is required to attend? All rec league boys in age groups 7-12 and girls in age groups 7-10. All other players are highly encouraged to stop by at your convenience to try on the sample uniforms. We cannot guarantee we will be able to swap out uniforms after they have been ordered. We will have coaches meetings for those coaching in boys ages 7-12 and girls ages 710. This is mandatory and a separate email will go directly to the coaches.
Why do I need to attend player evaluations? All players, including coach’s children, need to attend evaluations regardless if they have played with GAA before or if this is their first year with us. This year, we are using the evaluations to help with our drafts. We are also having sample uniforms on site for your child to try on. This will avoid any mishaps before the opening day. Any player that does not attend evaluations will be scored accordingly by the basketball committee. In addition, these players may not be eligible for the draft but instead go into the supplemental draft.

How can I help? We are still in need of volunteers for all hours of Basketball Evaluation day. The more volunteers and evaluators we have, the better we can evaluate the players. If you have one hour, two hours or even more to help, please contact Chris McElhiney at [email protected]. Older players are also welcome to help in the gym. GAA is a 501C3 non-profit so all hours performed by students can count as community service hours.
