Residential Burglary Suspect Arrested

On February 28, 2015, at approximately 12:36am, Manhattan Beach Police officers responded to the Manhattan Village homes regarding a call of a man sitting inside of a vehicle, who was believed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. When officers arrived, they contacted the male driver, who was identified as David Jesse Lord (10-15-1989) of Harbor City, CA. Officers noticed drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle and upon further investigation, it was discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen from Hermosa Beach, CA on January 25, 2015. A subsequent search of the vehicle and of Lord’s person revealed numerous stolen items to include; several garage door openers, (3) stolen license plates, several sets of car keys, (2) Garmin GPS devices, methamphetamine and stolen mail belonging to Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach residents. Manhattan Beach detectives have connected Lord to three previous crimes in Manhattan Beach, including two residential burglaries in the Manhattan Village homes. Detectives are currently investigating whether Lord is responsible for other crimes throughout Manhattan Beach. In addition, Manhattan Beach Police previously arrested Lord in September 2014 for possession of stolen property. Lord is set to be arraigned in the Southwest Judicial District-Torrance Court on March 3, 2015. His bail is set at $96,000. Charges include: possession of narcotics, possession of narcotic paraphernalia, possession of a stolen vehicle, burglary, and possession of stolen property.
