Brick barn 18th In the C , carts loaded with corn, destined for threshing on the central floor, would have entered the great doors of this fine timber and brick barn.

Orchard Planted in 1990, the farmhouse orchard was carefully planned to include fruit varieties that could be preserved and stored for the winter months. Look out for old varieties such as the ‘Beauty of Bath’ apple. Wash house and privy An early Edwardian ‘off the shelf’ washroom and toilet, these buildings originally stood in a garden in Longparish and were in use up until the 1960s.

ictorian schoolroom V Manor Farm and cottage Country Park A faithful re-creation of a typical late Victorian rural schoolroom complete with cane and dunce’s cap. The cottage was one of the main filming locations 27 for the BBC programme ‘Wartime 26 Farm’. armhouse F Built in the 1400s, the farmhouse’s medieval origins can still be seen today despite many alterations and additions.

Milking stall This simple parlour has one of the earliest powered milking machines.

Sheep fold When sheep are lambing or just need to be kept close at hand, these farmyard pens are easy to move.

Thatched barn This impressive timber-framed building, built in the late 1500s was used to store and thresh corn.

Longstock barn This barn was moved here from Longstock in 1984. Like the Granary it sits on mushroom-shaped staddle stones to keep grain vermin-free.

Wheelwright’s workshop The wheelwright provided an essential service in the rural community, producing and maintaining, amongst other things, the farm’s carts and wagons. This building was moved here from Nether Wallop in 1983.

Blacksmith’s forge The blacksmith too was an important figure in rural life, shoeing horses and manufacturing a wide variety of tools. This forge was moved here from Hedge End in 1986.

t Bartholemew’s Church S 13th The chancel is all that remains of this C church which, until the 1800s, was the parish church of Botley.
