PROCLAIM “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “You God Reigns!” -Isaiah 52:7
A Monthly Newsletter
March 2013
Is Practicing God’s Word Alone Enough? Last months newsletter talked about the importance of putting what we learn form the Bible into practice. If we do not live out what God teaches us then there is no purpose in what we learn. We have to live out what we believe, but we also must proclaim it. Don’t be afraid to share the goodness of God’s love with others. God has given us several opportunities this month to proclaim His Word. What is wonderful is that we can share God’s Word with others anytime of the day. Even one encouraging sentence is proclaiming His message of life and hope.

The women who are students at the South Pacific Bible College hosted a ladies’ day this past Saturday. We shared messages from the Bible for the women. It was an extremely encouraging day.

Praying for the Lost
Proclaiming first involves praying. Prayers for us to speak God’s truth and prayers for those who are searching for God or those who want to know Him better. Marcelo organized one Saturday morning, for anyone who wanted, to come together and pray for those who do not know God. We went out by the ocean, sang together, prayed together, and Marcelo shared a message from God’s Word. Many people walked around after and spent time meeting people at the beach and talking with them.

We want to proclaim a great big thank you to the Childress, North Groesbeck, and Memphis
Churches of Christ, and to all of our supporters who our supporting us to be here in New Zealand. Thank You for enabling us to be here, study God’s Word and be prepared to do full time mission work in La Serena, Chile. “How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!’” Romans 10:14-15 In our last newsletter we had special prayer requests for Marcelo’s mom, Marcela (picture to the left). We want to thank you all for your prayers. God has answered by touching the hearts of the Otumoetai Church of Christ’s Young Adults Group (pictured below). These young Christians came up with the idea to have a jar and fill it with their spare change when we meet for our weekly Bible study.
This money is to help Marcela survive as she is sick and unable to work. We are so thankful for the young adults and their hearts. Marcela is not a Christian, but because she cannot work right now, she is using her time to call and visit people. She has been telling her family and friends that Marcelo and I are coming to Chile to study the Bible with people. She has made several contacts with people who are waiting for us to arrive to Chile so we can study the Bible with them! She has a beautiful heart and we are excited to see her enthusiasm to let others know about the opportunity to study the Bible. God is working through this difficult time in her life, and we praise Him for this. Please keep her in your prayers.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. If you have any prayer requests, questions, or are interested May God’s blessing in supporting us please contact our sponsoring be with you.
