Anyone with even a passing interest in university sports knows the meaning of the words “March Madness”. It refers to the annual ritual of determining the national champions of men’s college basketball. Over a three week period each March, the best 65 teams in the US square off in a single elimination tournament. Everyone from office clerks to the US President predict the outcome of each and every game before the tourney begins, submitting their “brackets” for public scrutiny. Untold millions of dollars are gambled. Friendly bets are made between associates with the loser agreeing to perform embarrassing tasks. It really is madness! For the past few weeks, HFM has been experiencing it’s own form of March Madness attempting to complete four huge projects in quick succession. Geno Covington and his team of volunteers from Main St. Wesleyan (Elwood, IN) and United Family Wesleyan (Cicero, IN) worked tirelessly to complete a renovation in Frankton, IN. Meanwhile, Emery Bailey ad his crew from Marion, IN joined with IWU students to finish the infamous “Ghost House” at 3708 S. Washington St. The next day, they joined workers from Pleasant Hill Missionary Church in a mad dash to finish a four bedroom, three bath home in Bronson, MI. 500 miles to the east, volunteers from Eastern Hills Wesleyan Church (Buffalo, NY) are rapping up their renovation of a three bedroom house and constructing a new garage. I get tired just thinking about it! Now we need your help with the real work of HFM. It’s called “INTERCESSON”! We need a committed team of believers who will fast and pray that the Lord will help us sell these four homes at a fair price so we have significant profits to give to the support of missionaries. To do less truly would be “March Madness”!
