Marsha Bray Instructor 314-650-9739, [email protected] www.marshabray.com This class focuses on the basics of straight line machine quilting with a walking foot. Supply Sheet Sewing machine in good working order with extension table if available. You need a fresh needle size 80 or 90. Please bring your cord, foot pedal and manual. Walking foot to fit your sewing machine. An open-toe walking foot is best, but bring what you have. You must have a walking foot. Basic sewing supplies such as scissors, ripper, empty bobbins, extra machine needles, pencil Thread--50 wt or thinner in color that will show up well on your light fabric. i.e. dark brown, navy, red, or black. Bring a bobbin filled with a contrasting thread. For example, if your top thread is black, bring red in the bobbin. Backing fabric about 36 x 36--use a light fabric such as muslin or cream or white tone on tone. Batting--low loft cotton or poly 36 x 36-- Please buy this at The Quilted Fox so that you will have the right batting. Nine 10.5" squares of muslin or cream or white tone on tone. Sew these into a nine-patch grid quilt top to use for a practice quilt. Bring this quilt top, your backing and batting not basted together. Safety pins--Bring about 50 1" long safety pins. Masking tape--at least 1" wide 24" rotary ruler and a smaller size Quilter's gloves--if you have them If you have a quilt top that you want to quilt, bring it and we will discuss quilting options. We have a small refrigerator available if you wish to bring drinks, lunch, snacks, etc. Revised January 2013

All classes must be paid for in full upon registration. There are no refunds on classes unless we cancel the class. If you cancel 12 days in advance, you will be issued a store credit. If you can’t make the class, send a friend. If we cancel a class, we’ll let you know at least 24 hours in advance and you will receive store credit or a refund. Class supplies must be purchased before class. To help us keep the roof over your head during class, we would appreciate it if you would purchase your supplies at The Quilted Fox and we will give you a 10% discount for supplies purchased at registration. We cannot call to remind you of a class. Your registration receipt is your reminder. Also, the class you pay for is the class you must attend. Any make-up will be at the teacher’s discretion. Please review your class supply list prior to class and bring all items requested.
