Once when Jesus was visiting, Martha was busy cooking and serving while Mary sat and listened to Jesus. Martha wanted the Lord to tell Mary to help her, but He said that Mary had chosen the better thing. What I Can Do at Home With my Child: Practice this memory verse with your child: “Mary has chosen the thing that is better.”~ Luke 10: 41 Discuss these ideas with your child: What was Martha so busy doing in the story? Why do you think Jesus said that Mary had chosen to do something better? Do you think that Martha was doing something bad? What did Jesus want her to do? Family Fun: Invite some guests to your house. Be sure that everyone in the family helps to get ready and prepare some treats, so that the whole family can enjoy having company. Be sure everyone helps to clean up afterward, too.
