After grabbing the doubles point, UF fell on five singles courts with Hidalgo getting the lone Florida win on one. NCAA Quarterfinal Round The Gators are into the NCAA Quarterfinals for the first time since the 2005 season. UF has a record of 2-3 in the Elite Eight. Florida vs. the Field Florida played 18 of its 24, going 12-6 in matches this season against teams that made the NCAA Tournament field of 64. Gators to Host First and Second Rounds UF has been selected to host first and second round matches 13 of the 17 years since the NCAA Men’s Championships expanded its field to 64 teams in 1999 SEC Tournament Champions! The Gators captured the program’s fifth SEC Tournament Title on April 24 in Columbia, S.C. Florida defeated Vanderbilt and avenged two regular season losses to Texas A&M and Georgia to win the tournament title Bringing in the SEC Awards The SEC Yearly Awards were full of Gators in April. Head Coach Bryan Shelton was named SEC Coach of the Year, Diego Hidalgo earned the SEC Player of the Year and Alfredo Perez was named the SEC Co-Freshman of the Year.
