Not long ago I looked out the kitchen window and there it was…a wagon piled high with bags of seed. I suppose seed boxes will follow shortly. Here we go again! It is spring and, as soon as weather permits, work will begin and seed will go in the ground. Surely there is not a more faithful and hopeful person than a farmer. And so we too, as parishioner of St. Paul, are filled with faith and hope. In the Bible Hebrews tells us: Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Not long ago we relived the miracle of the resurrection and Pentecost will soon remind us that the gift of the Holy Spirit is always with us and so we should always have hope. We hope that those who are ill will be well, we hope that God’s Word is heard by all, we hope that we truly love one another, we hope that a new pastor receives God’s call to serve here. Many people are at work on our Call Process. Your Church Council appointed a hard working Transition Team. In case you’ve forgotten those folks they are Bill Bricely, BJ Ford, Jackie Graeser, Jean Hollanshead, Robbi Sigler, and yours truly. This group has put in many long hours creating the congregational survey, evaluating that survey after you so kindly returned them, discussed the concerns of many of you at three small group gatherings, and took all this information into consideration as St. Paul’s Ministry Site Profile was completed. Pastor Mark Bauer and other Synod staff have assisted the Transition Team. This has truly been a learning experience for all of us and, as you see these folks, please extend a sincere THANK YOU. The task for this group will soon be complete and the next group will take the reins. Your Call Committee will be installed during a Sunday worship service in the near future. They are Colton Breidenbach, Jean Hollanshead, Russell Lee, Courtney Thiel, Jim Ruhlen, and Bob Wachtman. Their job will be interviewing pastoral candidates assisted by Synod staff and then to make recommendations to Church Council. Here’s another group that will certainly deserve your THANKS! Our hope and prayers rest with these people who have so willingly offered their time and talents for their church once again! Thanks and prayers are also extended to you! So many of you have offered your time and talents to make sure that God’s work is done here. We have not fallen apart; we are stronger! Our faith is obvious and our hope is never ending. The promise of spring is real! ~Nancy Ross (on behalf of your Church Council)

We are collecting PORK & BEANS for the Food Pantry this month. There is a shopping cart at the crosswalk for you to place your donations. Thanks for your help!
We’re collecting… Collection containers at crosswalk or drop off at the office.
Blessing of Farm Families On Sunday May 13, all people who are in any way connected with farming will be recognized and blessed in worship. In the ancient church, there were a series of “Rogation Days” when clergy actually went to the fields and blessed them and chased away demons. I think we will just settle for a blessing and a hearty thank you for all who help put food on our tables. Come be a part of this special day!
I am sorry to report that we will not be getting our pictorial directory which we had our pictures taken for over 2 years ago. After we call our new pastor, we will do one of our own so be ready to either submit a picture or have one taken again. This way, we will have a more updated one for our new pastor to use as a reference. There are member lists available at the crosswalk with addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation!
Don’t forget to start shopping for Lutheran World Relief kits! This year we will be doing the Baby Care Kits and Personal Care Kits. Garage sales are an excellent way to find baby items that are stain-free and in good shape at a reasonable price. These two kinds of kits contain the following items: Baby Care Kit (clothing size is 6 to 24 months) 2 lightweight cotton t-shirts 2 long or short sleeved gowns or sleepers with feet (tops & pants may be used) 2 receiving blankets 4 cloth diapers 1 jacket, sweater or sweatshirt with hood 2 pairs of socks (preferably toddler size) 1 dark hand towel 2 – 4oz. bars of soap
Personal Care Kit 1 lightweight, dark-colored bath towel 2 – 4oz. bars of soap 1 adult toothbrush 1 sturdy comb 1 metal nail clippers
Tubs for your donations are at the west entry and at the crosswalk. These items will be collected through September and packed in October. This mission can spread love to others in need across the globe!!!

Dear Members of St. Paul and their Council, REACH 2018 has been completed. Many hearts and hands are needed for its success. We wish to thank you for your generous gift of $1500 and your many donations to help in purchasing t-shirts for those involved! We also hope you have seen both children and adults wearing them with pride. It could not have been possible without you!
