May Redbirds Table Runner Supply List Approximate Finished Size 20 ½” x 64 ½” Book required: Kim Schaefer’s Calendar Runners Supply List – (found on page 5 of Project book) Fabric: • 2/3 yard medium blue for block backgrounds • 1/3 yard blue dot for inner borders • 2/3 yard total assorted dark blues for pieced border o cut into (38) 4 ½ inch squares • 1/3-yard total assorted reds for birds • ½ yard total assorted lights, pinks, golds, and greens for applique flowers and leaves • brown scrap for worms • 2 yards for backing and binding • 2 yards of paper-backed fusible web • Kits for table runner will be available at time of class for $30.00. I will need to know a week prior to class if you plan on kit purchase. Kits do not include backing and binding Templates will be provided as part class. They will work for either fusible web or prepared turn applique. Instructions will be given for prepared turn if you are new to that method of applique. Stencil brush Small fabric scissors Small paper scissors Straw needles - #11 Container for starch (baby food type jar) Permanent marker I suggest preparing applique pieces and doing as much glue basting as possible prior to joining the (5) 10 ½ squares and lattices. If you prefer to join squares prior to adding applique, and/or if you will be machine appliqueing, you need to bring your sewing machine and sewing supplies to class.
