MAY UP NEWS SCHOOL ACTIVITIES/ EVENTS: Fire Drill-May 2nd This month, during our monthly fire drill we will be practicing what to do in case an alternate exit is needed. Safety and preparation continue to be an integral part of our Upwards Preschool program. Petting Farm/Zoo, Wednesday, May 9-1PM-3PM Fannie’s Farm Friends are scheduled to make their appearance at our preschool on May 9th. Our classes will begin visiting with the animals about 1PM. The children will have the opportunity to pet, hold, feed, and groom various animals including bunnies, rabbits, exotic chickens, ducklings, sheep, goats and ponies. Parents are invited to participate, as well. If there are others that would like to join the fun, we will welcome them from 2-3PM. We are excited to have this event as a culminating experience about animals for the children and to reach out to our community, as well. Parent Day, Monday, May 14, 1:30-2:00PM Parents are invited to join us in the Children’s Worship Chapel at 1:30PM for a special tribute to them from the children. We hope all of the parents will be able to attend. Thank You Day, Wednesday, May 16 On Thank You Day, we will be expressing appreciation to people God gives us to help care for us, including our preschool teachers and our advisory board. More information will be forthcoming. Splash Day, Monday, May 21, 1-2PM This will be a fabulous day of learning and water fun for the children. We encourage our preschool parents to participate from 1-2 PM. Various water stations will be set up and extra help would be appreciated. A note will be sent home regarding “Splash Day” on or about May 14th. Last Day Celebration, Wednesday, May 23 To close our first semester of learning at Upwards Preschool, the children will be engaged in sharing their skills and development. We will recognize each child for his/her interests and abilities. Preschool Registration for 2018-2019 School Year Our early registration is ongoing and we hope that if you are planning to join us in the fall that you will either visit our website to complete the registration process or inquire by calling the preschool office. We encourage early registration in order for us to plan ahead for the best quality care and education of the children and families we serve. Our first class day will be Wednesday, September 5th. Those registering by May 6th will have the opportunity to participate in our drawing for the book basket that will be held after our church service that day. Thank you for registering early. DIRECTOR’S NOTE: A special thank you goes out to those who volunteered and supported our spring picnic fundraiser last month. Proceeds help to enable us to have the Petting Farm/Zoo event this month. Happy May birthday wishes go out to Reagan in Ms. Diana and Ms. Sabrina’s class. Our congratulations also go out to Micah, in Ms. Melissa’s class, and his family on the arrival of a baby boy.
