Spring 2015 Newsletter Welcome to MBA’s 2015 Season! Big news to start with. We have revamped our mchenrybaseball.com website AND MBA is now offering online registration! If you prefer, we will still have In-person registration on Saturday February 7th & February 14th – details in the table below. The cost of Shetland registration is $130. The cost of all other divisions will be $180. We can hold your check until March 1st upon request. Please be sure to register by February 14th, 2015 to avoid a $25 late registration fee. Registration closes on February 28, 2015. Those registering for the first time are required to bring a birth certificate to in-person registration. A player must be at least 5 years of age by April 30th of 2015 to be eligible to participate. The cut-off birth date for each division is April 30th. MBA in-house players shall not be listed, as a player or substitute, on any other team, in-house or travel with the exception of MBA North 60 team participation. You will be required to sign a code of conduct agreement at registration. Important Dates:

Spring Clean Up Day – 8:00 AM @ VFW Cobra Steak Fry – Fundraiser event at the VFW to support our 12U Cobra Team trip to Cooperstow n Three Key Items on April 25 th : 1. Opening Ceremonies: Arrive @ VFW by 11:30 AM to meet up with your team (check with your Coach for details) 2. “Heroes Overseas” Giving Program: You, as a member of our MBA community, are invited to bring specific food & personal care items for donation to our U.S. combat troops in Afghanistan/overseas. More info on this joint effort between MBA and McHenry VFW Post 4600 will be provided on our website and at in-person player registration. 3. Pitch, Hit & Run Event, with registration starting at 2:00 PM @ VFW

Attention Managers and Coaches Anyone interested in managing or coaching a team this season must fill out an application during registration (online or in-person). This applies whether you have managed before or not. The Manager or Coach from each team is required to attend a mandatory coaching clinic & all general meetings (see “General Meetings” information below for the when & where details). MBA will conduct background checks on those interested in volunteering to manage or coach. Youth Umpires Those age 14 and over and in 8th grade or beyond who would like to umpire, should fill out an application at registration. Parent signature required as well. Sponsors Anyone interested in sponsoring a team please complete an online sponsor submission or contact Kelly Anderlik at
[email protected]. General Meetings General meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month in the VFW Hall and are open to all registered in the MBA. These General Meetings start at 8:00 PM for the May, June and July meetings. All other months of the year have a start time of 7:00 PM. Meetings are the best way for parents & coaches to stay informed of league events, rules, and important information. Refund Policy If after registering, your child chooses to not participate, a 50% refund will be given on or before April 18th. After April 19th, no refunds will be issued.
