Grape Varietal: Shiraz Vineyard Region: Canberra District Vintage Conditions: A warm and dry growing season, with a cool January followed by a warm February provided disease free ripening conditions. Rapid sugar accumulation and a balanced crop level with even flavour and ripeness. Colour: A vibrant purple red. Aroma: Perfumed nose of violets and spicy red fruits with toasty oak. Palate: A silky medium bodied palate displaying floral red fruits with spicy oak and long gentle tannins. Vinification and Maturation: Ripe fruit was harvested and fermented in open fermenters. Variable portions of whole bunch fruit was utilised in all ferments for lifted aromatics and stalky complexity. All ferments where plunged with 10 to 12 days on skins and pressed once dry, maturation was completed for nine months in French oak hogsheads and puncheons; toasty and spicy coopers where used to help express the spicy and floral nature of Canberra Syrah. Light fining and filtration was completed before bottling to ensure a bright and vibrant wine. Alcohol: 14.0%

Peak Drinking: Drinking beautifully now but will also reward medium term cellaring to 2026.
