Lowertown Ballpark Public Art: Scheme B
Meander Meander is a dynamic, interactive public art piece for Lowertown Ballpark’s West Plaza. It is comshape, bathymetry, and the 28 locks along its course from Saint Anthony Falls to St. Louis, Missouri. Each section is artistically fabricated out of cast glass and masonry -- from silica and lime harvested from the Mississippi Valley itself -- two materials that have been crucial to the industrial history of St. Paul. The glass cap of each piece contains an embedded LED, which illustrates changing water conditions of the river and organically reacts to viewers’ presence.
